Commander of Fairfield Regiment 1775-1778. Given command of Camden District Regiment on 3/25/1778 when Richard Richardson was promoted to Brigadier General. He was captured by the British and imprisoned at Camden Jail, then taken to the British Honduras and Bermuda for about a year and a half. From what became the Kershaw District.
