Was a Lieutenant. Promoted to Captain on 2/16/1778 or 8/1/1779 (two sources); at Siege of Savannah. He resigned in January of 1780, but was a POW at the Fall of Charleston, sent to St. Augustine. Later exchanged. Aide-de-Camp to Gen. St. Clair to the end of the war.
